Hello. 你好. こんにちは. There is much I'd like to say about myself as I'm a sociable and friendly person; unfortunately I am not able to as a small subset of the Shinto community in the Anglophonic world is unhinged, power-hungry and full of criminals.
Because of that, I refuse to share any publicly identifiable information. But here's some things I can share. I am 30 years old, speak multiple languages including Chinese and Japanese. I have lived in the US most of my life but spent time overseas in China, Hong Kong and Japan.
No, my name isn't actually "John Yamada", that's simply a "generic" name you may use when writing to me.
My philosophy in life is based on a compassionate understanding of those who do not know better, and who have not been blessed to be able to partake in the gods and kami of the world.
My favorite quote from a philosopher in the West is: "When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil."
My favorite quote from the East: "They who accord with Heaven are preserved, and they who rebel against Heaven perish." by 孟子, also known as Mencius.
I am both a dog and cat person. I like foxes, rabbits, wolves, cougars and coyotes, all of which I've been blessed to see in my backyard. Nature and naturalness is expressed by Shinto. It is best to respect nature, and in some ways, I believe primitivism would benefit mankind.
I worship the Amatsukami, and those who turn against the cosmos are those who I do not know the hearts of. If one truly serves the cosmos and the Amatsukami, then they will be prosperous and content. Not miserable and hate-filled.
I would be blessed to be a kannushi one day, but it appears as if it's not meant to be, as of now.
As one can see, even a peaceful and beautiful, perfect and elegant belief like Shinto has those who are unhinged enough to harm another over disagreements.
